Cult Party Kei Clarification: Sheer Overdresses (Peignoirs)
I get a lot of questions about the sheer over-dresses used in many Cult Party Kei and other coords (where to get them, etc.). Now, you can buy specifically Cult Party Kei or other Harajuku sheer overdresses from brands like Katie, or from small shops on Etsy or Storenvy.
However, you’ll find that many of the overdresses used in coords are actually vintage night dresses, like the dress above, called a peignoir.

You can find such vintage dresses on Etsy, other places that sell vintage, or buy them brand new. When coorded correctly, they look specific to Harajuku, and not at all like a night dress.
